How Many Times Have You Heard, "I'm Bored"?

"I'm Bored!"

As a busy, frazzled parent that is the LAST thing you want to hear from your kids! It is summer time, the kids are supposed to be outside enjoying the sunshine and having fun with friends! In a perfect world, this would totally be true. Unfortunately, this is not always that case. Some neighborhoods just don't allow the freedom other do to let the kids run around and just be kids.

Sometimes kids have to go to a daycare provider and when the come home they are suddenly confronted with freedom, but no clear idea of what they should do.

The limitations can go on and on, but so can the "I'm bored!" statements.

What is a busy parent supposed to do?

To lighten your burden, take some time to sit down with your kids and make a list of parent approved things they can do WITHOUT you. Whenever they begin to think, "I'm bored!" they simply go to their list and choose something to do.
