I Am Thankful for YOU!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for YOU!

Thank you for being a part of the Tutoring with Sheryl|Tech Coach for Tutors network!

It is an honor to share ideas that support and inspire educators and parents.

I recently hosted my entire family for our annual Thanksgiving. It is always so much fun to see everyone, but I can't deny it is a LOT of work! But, the good things in life are worth working for! The joy and the time spent with loved ones reenergizes me and keeps me connected with the people I hold dear to me.

I have been off a of social media for awhile because of a recent family event. One of my husband's cousin's passed away. She was much older than us, but we needed to be here for our family as they came to the ancestoral home to say their final goodbyes. Taking time for your family and friends is important! Build relationships with those you will continue to enrich your lives!

Here are a few things you can check out until I am back on social media in December!

The Year in Review! This year has been a year of growth for me professionally as well as for my students! Let's chat about it! For my students: Most of my students were published in a poetry anthology earlier this year. This was inspired by a review of poetry during our spring assessment review. I wanted it to be fun, and sometimes just reading poetry is not as exciting for those boring slides that we can read with old poems on them. We dove in and learned about rhyming, poetry patterns, and...

Have You Discovered The Tutoring with Sheryl Podcast? Yes, it is a REAL thing! I began a podcast about 5 or 6 years ago as I was learning new strategies to use in my classroom with my students. It was always a goal of mine to get the kids to learn new technologies that they could use later in life. As I was learning more about Google apps, I began my journey preparing for the Google for Educators Certification. One of the things you had to understand was how to create a blog and at that time,...

What is on your holiday shopping list? It is that time of the year, and the spending has begun! Perhaps you are buying for others, maybe you are making a year-end purchase for yourself! I know that I have a couple of additional items to get purchased and wrapped for some special people in my life! I guess I had better get moving on that! A few years ago, I put together a list of ideas for parents and I had posted it on my old website. I had focused on math games for kids. I dove into my...
