Why Create a Website? Do they REALLY Work?

Why Create a Website?

Ben Gallagher will be chatting about this important question at Impact 8: Get More Students Summit, sponsored by Pencil Spaces and Hosted by Joanne Kaminski.

I hear that question for my members in the Tech Hub for Tutors, and I also hear it from local business owners in my area. I have always thought it was very important and that is why I have training in the Tech Hub for Tutors about how you can set up a FREE website! But guess who else agrees with me? Ben does! Ben and I both agree that it is vital that you have a website. This is where you tell your story and how people can find you!

You need to funnel them to your website! He will take you through his training and you can find out how you can create an effective website!

Our Techies can also find the training in the Tech Hub for Tutors library that I have built out for you! My version is a training on Google Sites. Yes, this is a FREE website you can use, but the training course costs about as much as your McDonald's lunch for two! So, you have two trainings you can gain access to!

Of course I want to tell you all about my presentation! It is all about using Khanmigo and how you can use them to shorten your planning time for your students, and you can make vibrant lessons very quickly! In my presentation, I show you how to use the tools with some simple examples. I would love to hear more about what you tried and if it worked! You are invited to pause the video and try things out as you GO!

Tech Coach for Tutors

I am a seasoned educator and reading specialist, empowering struggling readers from Kindergarten to Sixth Grade through evidence-based methods rooted in the Science of Reading. I personalize instruction, blending phonics, decoding, spelling, writing, and comprehension, fostering significant reading achievement. I have helped over 40 families move their child forward with their learning in the last 3 years. I have an established following on my Facebook pages where parents seek information about reading and tutors seek information on how to tutor online with little to no effort. My YouTube pages continue to grow their reach, as do my social media channels on Instagram and TikTok. Beyond my direct work with students, I also equip fellow tutors in the Tech Hub for Tutors with essential digital literacy and marketing skills, maximizing their impact. I support almost 200 tutors through my digital newsletter, I have worked with nearly 50 educators in one-to-one mentoring sessions in the last two years, and I have a growing private membership in The Tech Hub for Tutors. I have been a guest on the podcasts, The Online Tutor Podcast and Tutoring Tips for Teachers. I have also made several guest appearances and led educational summits including IMPACT 6 and SOAR 1 and 2.
